"I have been wearing Ranger boots from Ethical Wares for many, many years and they are excellent. But thought I'd try the Weald boots for a change and because I prefer the black colour. They are light as a feather and very comfortable - walked for miles in them the first time I wore them. A good fit very supportive ankle, good non slip soles. And they don't look or feel clumpy! Another pair of excellent boots from Ethical Wares! Thank you."

Weald walking boots arrived this morning...soooooper quick.
Excellent product and excellent service. I think this is my third pair and they make walking an absolute pleasure.
I organised a local walking group for nearly thirty years, have completed several long distance footpaths and still walk three times a week, so my feet recognise a good boot.
Not only are they Vegan, they are made in Italy, so probably taste good as well.
Amazing, finding Vegan hiking boots is a minefield. I did my research and after a long haul was happy to find Ethical Wares online. Ordered these Weald boots and they are superb. I would definately recommend getting a size above your normal one. I did and they fit great even without a hiking sock. Lightweight yet sturdy. Honestly, if you've been searching for cruelty free walking boots ( I know how hard it is ) go no further. They're up to the job, feel great and from a company that's right behind your beliefs.
When my boots arrived had to try them on as got a size bigger and the fit was spot on with walking socks.
The quality was special and realized they
where made in Italy the stitching and the feel of the soft material and color was impressive .
Went for a walk and the where nice and light and comfortable.
Had a splash in the mud and wee puddles nice and dry.
So happy as live in Wales where it rains so much and my wee dug loves walks.
So selling heavy wellies now.
Cheers for being cruelity free and sweat shop free.
Bought a pair of these in the late 90's for wearing to work landscaping and gardening and that is me only needing to replace them now!!
The soles are still reasonable but the rest of them just can't be glued back together and are like wearing a sieve in the rain, no matter how much dubbing is put on.
At this rate the new pair will outlast me.
Definitely 10/10
Highly impressive boots. I got them just before a trip to Iceland and wore them constantly while away. Over every terrain Iceland can throw at you - icy city streets, beaches, river banks, mossy lanes, slippery decking, rock, glaciers, snowy fields, gravelly but steamy geyser surroundings, parks, headlands, frozen ponds, mucky ditches, woodlands, splashing through shallow streams, everything - no problem at all to these lightweight, grippy soled, cosy and supportive boots. They keep you upright and keep your toes warm in any climate from light drizzle to chucking it down with snow. They're black so give them a rub and you can slide into a club or restaurant without hassle. I'm on my second pair now. I love them and I'd recommend them to anyone.
THE most comfortable boots from the very first time of wearing I have ever had the absolute pleasure to own. They are sturdy and I have worn them every day almost for over 6 months. What would improve them? Much greater water resistance. Still, I recommend them for durability and comfort.
I love these walking boots, they are extremely comfortable on all terrains. They are totally waterproof - not just water resistant as many vegan walking boots are. I can stand in puddles etc without getting wet at all. I have had mine for well over a year and they are still in excellent condition. I might buy another pair when I can afford it just in case they ever become unavailable.
All round awesome boot!

Weald 2 walking boots

Firstly I'd definitely recommend buying from Ethnical Wares. Mike was so helpful in helping me with size and kept me up to date with the purchase/delivery. A really great service. Thanks

So I decided to go for these boots over another pair from another site because these had such great reviews on here. I'm not a hiker/walker - yet but it's something I want to do so getting together all the gear and thought as a vegan I need to find some decent 3 season walking boots.

And today after double checking I felt they were the right size, i.e. wearing the socks I'll wear with them (Darn Tough from ethnicalwares), managing to get one finger down the heel of the boot with my toes pushed to the front, lacing the boot up at the ankle bend not at the top, I didn't have any slopes to test them on indoors but did but did wear them around the house for a few hours before venturing outdoors in them.

After an 11km walk in the rain this is what I found:
They are very light in weight.
Very flexible.
Very easy to get in and get off.
Very easy to tighten/lace up well.
They actually made me walk better/posture etc.
They have good grip in the wet.
Good ankle support, not too high.
The sole has a nice bit of bounce along with the Darn Tough socks my feet were well cushioned.

I'm a size 7 in a boot but was recommended to get a size 41 (7.5 U.K. it says on the box) and with a pair of Darn Tough socks feel like they are just right with space for feet to swell. I felt like I could definitely walk another 11km in these boots.

Kept my feet warm and dry (I even walked through puddles!).
My feet don't feel sore at all, when I walked in trainers earlier in the week after 7km my feet had sore spots.

I originally bought these boots just for hiking but I think they look great, especially with skinny jeans so I'll wear them as a casual boot on a daily basis as well as for hiking to get the most wear out of them.

Excellent Boots

I have been wearing Ranger boots from Ethical Wares for many, many years and they are excellent. But thought I'd try the Weald boots for a change and because I prefer the black colour. They are light as a feather and very comfortable - walked for miles in them the first time I wore them. A good fit (I wear orthotics and its very difficult to find anything that works with them), very supportive ankle, good non slip soles. And they don't look or feel clumpy! Another pair of excellent boots from Ethical Wares! Thank you.
Excellent boots

I am very, very happy so far with my Weald 2 waterproof walking boots. I have recently been out on a day's surveying of badger setts, scrambling about and on muddy tracks, and they were comfortable and sure-footed. I was worried about the size as I am a broad size 42, but your advice of the next size up is good and the 43 is just right. This makes me optimistic they will stand up to days out monitoring the hunts next season. It is a weight off my mind to be able to go vegan with walking footwear... much easier maintenance too as you just wipe them clean and they are ready to go again.
