Pancake Day Competition 2017

Congratulations to the 2 lucky winners of our My Vegan Pancake competition.

Joanne Bean was the overall winner and has received an ethical WARES £40 gift voucher.
And Allie Gilbert was the runner up and will be receiving a £25 gift voucher towards a Vegan cookery course or a BB stay at the fab Our Lizzy Cookery school.

Of course everyone who entered is a winner – for coming up with such inventive and delicious Vegan pancakes – well done to you all and thanks for sharing your recipes with us.

How to Enter and Win


We will choose our 2 favourite entries – the winning entry will receive:

A £40 ethical WARES gift voucher for you to use on any products across our entire range.

Our second choice will win a £25 gift voucher from the famous Our Lizzy cookery school which can be used towards one of her many cookery courses  (all Vegan and highly recommended by us) or towards a B&B stay at her premises in beautiful Malvern.

All entries will also receive an ethical WARES £5 off voucher for your next purchase - so really there's no reason not to join in!

Lizzy's pancake recipe.

Pancakes by Liz


Makes 4

  • 50g plain flour
  • 50g gram flour
  • 300ml soya milk (unsweetened)
  • sunflower oil for frying

Place ingredients in a blender jug and blend. 

Leave to stand for at least 20 minutes. 

Heat oil in crepe/frying pan, add a ladle full of pancake mixture, and cook on both sides. Keep warm.  Add more oil as needed to cook remainder of pancakes.

Serve with fresh fruit and soya yogurt or your filling of choice.
