The new Friends of ethical WARES section has been set up to record just some of the very many people who have supported us over the many years we have been trading. We hope it will also serve to show the diverse and eclectic nature of those who choose to led a compassionate lifestyle.

Robb Johnson – Singer/songwriter extraordinaire, purveyor of good causes and general top person, has been wearing our boots for more years than probably Robb or ourselves would care to remember! For more info on Robb see www.robbjohnson.co.uk

One of Robb's latest songs is called Big Brown Eyes, and was written about the slaughter of Shambo the bull from the Skanda Vale Temple in West Wales. This can now be heard as an mp3 sample on our home page.

Robin Lane - The dog with Robin, on the right hand side is Foxy - they have had for 10 years, and was rescued from a traveller’s site. Ruby is on the left and was re-homed from an animal rescue sanctuary. Robin and partner, Alison have been organising the London Vegan Festival since 1998 under the name CALF (Campaign Against Leather And Fur). In 2007 the London Vegan Festival was orgainised jointly with Caroline of Vegan Campaigners www.vegancampaigns.org.uk (with whom Robin and Alison are also involved). Being a busy lad, this year Robin will also be undertaking a sponsored walk raising money for the Vegan Prisoners support Group www.vpsg.org, in a pair of trainers supplied by ethical WARES.

Dan Gerics - musician, actor, director, wannabe cartoonist. Musically he's a jazz influenced folk/rock guy. Actor wise he's into gritty, sweaty drama and dark comedies.

LuQ - Deeply felt compassion from a young age led Luq to become veg as soon as Luq was allowed (at 16) and is still veg after more than 10 years. Luq is many things, most prominently an itinerant artist and gender outlaw who really loves shoes (and dancing).

David and Spike are 2 Vegan anarchists from Manchester who host the radical internet radio show Under The Pavement. This comes out every other Thursday from 11.00pm to 1.00am and has an excellent set list reflecting their alternative agenda and vegan lifestyle. Music played ranges through folk, punk, pop, indie, even Matt Monro got an airing recently ! ethical WARES favourites are much in evidence, Robb Johnson, Tracey Curtis, Eastfield, Chris Butler to name but a few.

Anna Baker - has just finished a 3½ year stint working in the merchandise department of Animal Aid. We got to know Anna well in that time and we wish her well is her chosen career, in the teaching profession.
Whilst at Animal Aid, Anna undertook 101 mile sponsored walk along the South Downs Way (wearing a pair of our boots) and also a triathlon, which raised £25,000 – a huge achievement.
